At Way of Life Occupational Therapy, we support individuals of all ages to develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to participate in meaningful daily activities at home, school, work, and within the community.

Our Occupational Therapists take a person-centred, strengths-based, and evidence-informed approach, recognising that every individual has unique strengths, goals, and experiences. We work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, educators, and support networks to provide tailored support that promotes meaningful and lasting outcomes.

Allied Health Assistant Services

Supporting Children, Teens, and Adults to Build Skills and Independence

At Way of Life Occupational Therapy, our Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work under the guidance and supervision of our Occupational Therapists to help participants achieve their individual goals and increase their independence.

AHAs provide practical, goal-focused support by delivering therapy programs designed by Occupational Therapists. They help participants practice skills, build confidence, and apply strategies learned through therapy in everyday environments.

Key Therapist Services

Supporting Children, Teens, and Families Through Meaningful Skill Development

At Way of Life Occupational Therapy, our Key Therapist provides individualised support to help children, teenagers, and their families build skills, increase confidence, and achieve meaningful goals across everyday environments.

With qualifications in Early Childhood Learning Management and a Master of Behaviour Analysis, our Key Therapist brings a strong understanding of child development, learning, behaviour, and family-centred support. Services are tailored to each participant's unique strengths, needs, and goals, with a focus on creating practical strategies that can be used at home, school, and within the community.

Families and Caregivers

We recognise that families play a vital role in achieving positive outcomes. Our Key Therapist works collaboratively with parents, caregivers, educators, and support teams to develop practical strategies that can be consistently implemented across different environments.

Our Approach

Our approach is collaborative, person-centred, and evidence-informed. We focus on understanding the individual, building on their strengths, and creating achievable pathways toward greater independence, participation, and quality of life.

Services are available in the clinic, at home, in schools, and within the community where appropriate.

Our Process

  • Up to 2 Hours

    The initial appointment allows our team to gain a thorough understanding of the participant, their strengths, challenges, goals, and support needs. This session may include:

    • Information gathering and discussion

    • Review of relevant reports and documentation

    • Functional observations

    • Goal setting and therapy planning

    • Recommendations for ongoing support

    Following the appointment, our team will determine the most appropriate therapy pathway and recommendations.

  • Ongoing sessions are tailored to the participant's goals and can be provided on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

    Available session lengths include:

    • 30 Minutes

    • 50 Minutes

    • 60 Minutes

    Sessions may be delivered in the clinic, home, school, workplace, or community, depending on the participant's needs and goals.

  • Some supports are completed outside of direct therapy sessions and may be charged in accordance with funding guidelines and service agreements.

    These activities may include:

    • Session preparation (up to 15 minutes)

    • Clinical note writing (up to 15 minutes)

    • Reviewing documents and reports

    • Communication with families, schools, support coordinators, and other professionals

    • Resource development and therapy planning

    A minimum charge of 10 minutes may apply for non-face-to-face requests and professional communications.

  • Travel charges may apply for community, home, school, or workplace visits.

    • Services are available within approximately 30 minutes of Bundaberg Central

    • Travel is charged in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (where applicable)

  • Up to 2 Hours

    Intervention Action Plans provide a structured plan outlining goals, strategies, recommendations, and support requirements to guide intervention and achieve meaningful outcomes.

  • Up to 4 Hours

    Progress reports may be completed to document participant outcomes, progress towards goals, ongoing support needs, and recommendations for future services. These reports are commonly requested for NDIS plan reviews, schools, funding bodies, and other stakeholders.

  • Up to 10 Hours Total

    Functional Capacity Assessments provide detailed information regarding a participant's functional abilities, support needs, and recommendations.

    This service typically includes:

    • Up to 2 hours of assessment and information gathering

    • Review of supporting documentation

    • Clinical analysis and recommendations

    • Approximately 6–8 hours of report writing

    The total time required will depend on the complexity of the assessment and reporting requirements.
